Sunrisers Leeds beat Southern Brave by five wickets in The Hundred Women's eliminator at The Oval, booking their place in Sunday's final against Trent Rockets at Lord's. According to Sky Sports, the win came with 11 balls to spare despite a tense chase.
Set 115 to win after Brave were put in to bat, Sunrisers slipped to 54 for 3 before Lauren Winfield-Hill and Deepti Sharma steadied the innings. England quick Issy Wong then struck twice in two balls to leave Sunrisers wobbling at 95 for 5, removing both Winfield-Hill for 37 and captain Dani Gibson without scoring. Deepti Sharma kept her composure, finishing unbeaten on 28 from 22 balls to guide her side home at 116 for 5.
Earlier, Southern Brave had posted 114 for 7 from their 100 balls after Lizelle Lee top-scored with 32. Legspinner Hannah Baker was the pick of the Sunrisers bowlers, taking 2 for 13, with Annabel Sutherland also picking up two wickets. Baker said she was "keeping it very simple" with her bowling on the day.
Wong finished with 3 for 21 for Brave, including the key early wicket of tournament run-scorer Phoebe Litchfield, but it was not enough to prevent a fourth straight defeat for a side that had won its opening five matches of the competition.
Sunrisers Leeds, the defending champions under a different name and identity from last year's triumph, now move on to face Trent Rockets in Sunday's final at Lord's.
